Fabulous Beaches

There are amazing beaches in St Ives; golden sand, azure seas, and each one with it's own microclimate, so whichever way the wind blows, you can (nearly!) always get out of it.

Porthmeor Beach Nestling below the Tate Gallery, this is our choice, with the wonderful Porthmeor Cafe, and home to the surf school http://www.stivessurfschool.co.uk/

Porthgwidden Beach Sheltered by the Island, this is a smaller beach, and very popular with families with small children. The Porthgwidden Cafe has been voted seaside restaurant of the year 2012 www.porthgwiddencafe.co.uk

Bamaluz Beach is a tiny beach in between Porthgwidden and Smeaton's Pier, and only accessible at low water. Dogs allowed here all year.

Harbour Beach is on the Harbour! Can get very busy, but a great place to sit and watch the local craft coming in and out, and safe for small children

Porthminster Beach A large beach, and home to the famous Porthminster Cafe, and a good place to hire a kayak and paddle around the bay www.porthminstercafe.co.uk

Carbis Bay Around the corner a little, Carbis Bay is one of the few privately owned beaches in the country, and, like all St Ives Beaches, a Blue Flag Award holder
